Reading your invoices

A line-by-line guide to your monthly invoice. What every charge means and where to find more detail.

Updated April 15, 2026

Every month, ShoutXChange sends you an invoice. It lists everything you were charged in the past month. Here is how to read it.

When invoices come

We send invoices on the first business day of each month, by email. They cover the month that just ended. So your March invoice comes the first day of April.

If you have nothing to be billed for that month, we still send a short note that says so. That way you always know.

The top of the invoice

The top has the basics:

  • Your name and the email on your account.
  • The invoice number.
  • The dates the invoice covers.
  • The total amount due.
  • The card we will charge.

The body

The body lists each line item. Every line has the date, what it was, and how much.

The most common line is "ShoutXChange attribution fee. Month of [month]". That is our small cut on revenue from fans we brought you. We list the new fans, what they spent, and our percentage. The math is shown so you can check it.

You may also see:

  • Pre-pay pack. Credits you bought.
  • Auto-top-up. Credits we bought for you on a trigger.
  • Refund. Money returned to you (shown in green or with a minus sign).

The bottom

The bottom shows the total. If you have credits left over from a refund, those are subtracted. Then the final amount is what we charge.

When the charge happens

We charge two business days after the invoice is sent. That gives you time to look it over and ask questions. If you spot something off, contact us before the charge. We will hold it while we sort it out.

Where to find old invoices

All your past invoices are on the Billing page. Click Invoices to see the full list. Click any one to download a PDF. Use them for your taxes.

What if I disagree with a charge?

Email us through the contact form. Include the invoice number and the line you are unsure about. We pull up the trade history, walk through the math with you, and fix anything that was off. We are not here to fight over five dollars. Fairness is the whole point.

What about taxes?

Taxes are listed as their own line if they apply where you live. We do not hide them in the fee. The number on the page is the number we charge.
