Adding a card on file
How to safely add a credit or debit card to your ShoutXChange account, and when we charge it.
Updated April 15, 2026
Adding a card on file lets you buy credit packs and pay our small monthly cut on attributed revenue. We never charge it without your say-so.
How to add a card
- Go to Billing in the left menu.
- Click Add card.
- A small Stripe form opens. Stripe is the company that handles cards for many big sites.
- Type your card details into the form.
- Click Save.
Stripe checks the card with a tiny test charge that they refund right away. The card sits on file until you remove it.
What we see and what we do not
We do not see your full card number. We do not see the security code. Stripe sees those and gives us a small token in return. Kind of like the token we use for OnlyFans connection. Our records hold the last four digits, the brand (Visa, Mastercard, etc.), and the expiry month. That is all.
If our system gets hacked, your full card number is not in it. Stripe keeps that part safe.
When we charge the card
We charge it in three cases, and only three:
- You buy a credit pack. The price is shown before you click Buy.
- You turned on auto-top-up and your balance fell below your trigger.
- Your monthly fee on attributed revenue is due. We send an invoice first.
We never charge a surprise fee. Every line item lives on an invoice you can see.
Failed charges
If a card fails. Wrong number, expired, declined. We let you know right away by email. Trades pause until you fix it. You have ten days to update the card before we cancel any open campaigns. Your past records are kept either way.
Removing a card
You can remove your card any time. If there is an unpaid balance, we ask you to add a new card or pay the balance first. After that, your card is gone from our records and from Stripe.
Why we ask for a card before some things
We ask for a card before you start a campaign with paid credits, or before we start charging our monthly cut. This is to prove the account is real. It also stops a bad actor from running a campaign, getting fans, and never paying. The card on file keeps trades safe for everyone.
If you do not want to add a card, you can stay free as long as you only use earned credits and never accept fans we charge for.
