Creating your first campaign
A short walkthrough of how to set up your first ShoutXChange campaign and what each setting means.
Updated April 15, 2026
A campaign is a plan to trade shoutouts. You set the rules once. We do the rest.
How to start
- Click Campaigns in the left menu.
- Click New campaign.
- Pick the page this is for, if you have more than one.
- Set how many fans you want to swap. Most creators start at fifty.
- Pick a niche or two. We will only match you with creators in those niches.
- Pick a window. This is when shoutouts can go out. For example, weekday afternoons.
- Click Save.
You are done. We start looking for matches right away.
What each setting means
Number of fans: how many fans you want to trade in this campaign. Both sides agree on the same number, so trades stay even.
Niche: the kind of content you make. Pick what fits. The better the match, the better your fans like the trade.
Window: the time of day shoutouts go out. We pick the best time inside your window. Pick a wide window for more matches.
Banned partners: a private list of creators you never want matched with, for any reason. They will never see your name and you will never see theirs.
How matching works after that
Once your campaign is live, our matcher looks at the pool of creators with open campaigns and finds the best fit. We balance niche, size, time zone, and trust score.
When we find a match, you get a notification. You see who they are, their fan count, their niche, and their trust score. You can accept or pass. If you both accept, the trade is locked.
Cancelling
You can pause or cancel a campaign any time. Pause stops new matches but lets ongoing ones finish. Cancel stops new matches and ends ongoing ones at the next clean break point. We will not start any new shoutouts after you click cancel.
Tips for a strong first campaign
- Start small. A campaign of fifty fans is a great first run.
- Keep your window wide. More time = better matches.
- Be honest about your daily limit. The system rewards creators who deliver.
- Read the match before you accept. A good fit beats a fast fit every time.
